Come and celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Trouble In The Kitchen - Australia's Premier Traditional Irish Band. They are in Melbourne to record their much anticipated 3rd album, and we have grabbed them while they are here for this special 20th Anniversary show! Ado Barker (fiddle, vocals); Kate Burke (guitar, vocals), Benno Stephenson (Flute, Bodhrán) and Joe Ferguson (Irish Bouzouki). They have earned a reputation as world class performers of traditional Irish music with an Australian-Irish twist.

Breaking Trad are reviving Irish traditional music and song with a fresh, and modern twist with powerhouse tunes and exquisite vocals. Breaking Trad is made up of Donal Murphy (Accordion), from West Limerick, Niall Murphy (Fiddle) from South Armagh, and Mike Galvin (Guitar/Vocals). They will be joined by the renowned singer and bodhran player Gino Lupari which makes this band even more formidable. Although this is not a Second Line Music show, it is highly recommended!

With 22 years of unrivalled musical partnership gathering numerous nominations, awards and critical acclaim along the way, English singer/songwriters, Chris While & Julie Matthews return to their beloved Australia, which has become their second home. Chris and Julie are more powerful than ever and remain at the top of their game. This will be their thirteenth visit in 20 years. They bring with them their latest studio album, Shoulder to Shoulder which has garnered much media attention and rave reviews.

Peter Rowan, “The Voice of Bluegrass”, returns to Australia with his Bluegrass Band, featuring Patrick Sauber (banjo, mandolin), Blaine Sprouse (fiddle), and Paul Knight (double bass). "Rowan is one of the greatest and most important of all the bluegrass players. He understands what he calls "the joy" of bluegrass and acoustic music" (Sydney Morning Herald). His beautiful singing is of the classic “high-lonesome” - the defining style of all bluegrass vocalists.

The collaboration between the legendary Andy Irvine (Sweeney's Men/Patrick Street/Planxy/Mozaik) and mandolin maestro Luke Plumb (Shooglenifty) is one of the most thrilling in recent times, resulting in the wonderful 2017 studio album Precious Heroes. Andy has been “one of the towering talents on the international folk scene” (Sydney Morning Herald) for more than 40 years, while Luke has established a reputation as a driving force in acoustic music on the global stage. This is their only Melbourne show!

Michigan-based, Red Tail Ring are Laurel Premo and Michael Beauchamp. Together they create intricate arrangements of original folk music and traditional ballads with banjo, fiddle, guitar, and lush harmonies. “The very best of the 21st century’s minimalist and highly original folk music . . . a peerless duo.” – American Roots UK. Fresh off their fourth full-length studio release, Fall Away Blues, Premo and Beauchamp are “re-imagining Americana music with pure soul” – The Steel Wheels.
